With a strong family background in medicine and natural sciences Robert decided to engage in developing effective treatment strategies for (chronic) infections, auto-immune conditions, cancer and regenerative applications. He is involved in the integrative health field since 2005 working aside his renowned father Dr. Michael Weber with a main focus on (laser-) light-based therapies like photobiomodulation (PBM) and photodynamic therapy (PDT). He finished his Master’s degree in Development Economics and Global Health in 2013 and initiated multiple research projects on PBM and PDT since then. He became the driving force in establishing the International Society for Medical Laser Applications by organizing multiple annual conferences and training events, coordinating international research projects, publishing (and co-authoring) the first and second edition of the book “Medical Low-Level Laser Therapy: Foundations and Clinical Applications” and lecturing at several international conferences and podcasts. Just recently he and his team published the first clinical study on anti-microbial photodynamic therapy in the treatment of Malaria.
On the entrepreneurial side he is managing business for Weber Medical and W Medical Systems establishing the “Weber lasers” in the integrative health market but also developing highly innovative home-use technologies like the Endolight “watch” for systemic application and the Brainbooster “helmet” for helping patients with neurodegenerative diseases and mental issues. He is passionate about his work for many reasons, first in line because it has already benefited so many patients who have desperately searched for a solution to their health problems. His vision is offering everyone out there the possibility to improve and maintain individual health autonomously.
Robert believes that innovative health solutions should not only be accessible to a few privileged people. Therefore, he initiated the non-profit organization “Global Heartbeat” which organizes music events that fund research and non-profit clinics in Africa and Asia.
